This year’s Utrecht Pride is of course about celebrating each other, despite any differences. Whether you’re part of the LGBTQIA+ community or you'd simply like to experience the festivities, come join Pride!
Summary
In the month of June you’ll notice a colorful change in Utrecht. While Amsterdam is gearing up to host the massive global spotlight of WorldPride later this summer, Utrecht offers an experience that many locals actually prefer: a scenic celebration right in the heart of the Netherlands. Here is everything you need to know to make the most out of Utrecht Pride 2026.
Key takeaways
- The Canal Pride starts at 13:30 on Saturday, June 6, 2026.
- Street parties in city center will be on from 15:00 until 23:00.
- Definitely book a hotel/hostel ahead as it will be busy.
When does Pride take place
You’ll be able to enjoy Utrecht Pride events all of June. The main events take place on Saturday, June 6, more information on that later on! Utrecht’s Pride is widely considered the intimate, charming alternative to Amsterdam’s massive event, but don’t let that fool you.
Thousands of people from all over the world pack the city center and for expats and tourists, it is an incredibly welcoming event. The atmosphere is open, lively, and family-friendly during the afternoon, seamlessly transitioning into vibrant street parties as the sun goes down.
The canal parade
The headliner of Pride is the boat parade on the canals of Utrecht. Dozens of brightly decorated boats, representing local LGBTQIA+ organizations, universities, businesses, and community groups cruise through the city center with live DJs, dancers, and plenty of glitter. The canal parade starts at 13:30 (1:30 P.M.) on Saturday the 6th of June.

Street parties
Throughout the late afternoon, major squares across the city center such as Domplein, Janskerkhof, and Stadhuisplein host free street parties featuring live music, drag performances, and outdoor bars.
Visit the Pride stage at St. Jacobsstraat or the Roost stage at Paardenveld to see local artists perform.
Night activities
This year’s Wild ‘n Sweet festival will be hosted at Tivoli Vredenburg. This party will take place on June 6th from 20:30 till 4 in the morning! Tickets start at €21,95 and can be found here.
There is also an After Pride party at Basis called “BASIS x PAX-ROMANA: After Pride”. Get your tickets here.
Fancy something more burlesque, head over to Ekko for “The Cat Eye Cabaret: PRIDE RIOT!” and secure your spot here.
